Gowanda lax defeats East Aurora

EAST AURORA — Gowanda jumped out to an 8-2 halftime lead en route to a 13-7 nonleague girls lacrosse victory over East Aurora on Monday.

Chloe Luther led the Panthers (3-8, 1-5 Conference 1) with five goals and three assists; Aailyah Stevens had four goals and two assists; and Aurora Stevens had three goals. Ke’Ya Stevens chipped in a goal and an assist.

Luther also had four interceptions and picked up three groundballs while Layla Gamble also had an interception to go along with her 11 saves for Gowanda.

The Blue Devils, who are 0-5 in Conference 2, fell to 2-12 overall.

SWEET HOME BEATS WARRIORS

AMHERST — Emma Kielbasa and Brianne McGrath each scored five times to power Sweet Home past Salamanca/Randolph 14-8 in Conference 4 action.

Cassidy Naylor added three goals while Amalie Larson, Alison Gauld and Camryn Coughlin each chipped in a goal for the Panthers (8-6, 8-4).

Karina Crouse, Shea Monahan and Marijah Downey each had a pair of goals while Mikaela Tennity and Laila Zolner chipped in a goal apiece for the Warriors (10-3, 10-3).

Keianna John picked up three groundballs and Grace Hodara grabbed two for Salamanca/Randolph.

LS/SC EDGES QUAKERS

ANGOLA — Joiise John had three goals and two assists to lead Lake Shore/Silver Creek past Orchard Park 10-8 in nonleague boys action.

Jaden Kennedy had two goals and an assist while Ray Cortes chipped in a goal and an assist for the Eagles (14-1, 11-0 Class C). Vinny Marszalek, Obrigh Tallchief, Korbin Bonafede and Blayze Becker each added a goal.

The Quakers, 5-1 in Class B, fell to 9-7 overall.

MAYBEE SHINES FOR WARRIORS

SALAMANCA — Austin Maybee had four goals and two assists as Salamanca/Randolph edged Niagara Wheatfield 15-13 in nonleague action at Veterans Memorial Park.

Tre Turner had three goals and three assists; Tayoni Gallante had three goals and two assists; Mannox Jamieson had two goals and two assists; Xavier Peters had two goals and an assist; and Logan Armstrong had a goal and an assist for the Warriors (9-4, 6-1 Class D).

Jake Gansworth led the Falcons (7-8, 3-3 Class B) with six goals and three assists while Evan Belter had five goals and an assist.
