Area indoor track athletes head to Staten Island

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place Saturday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
Local schools will send two relays into competition while six student-athletes will be competing in individual events.
Senior Jacob Constantino, and juniors Collin Riel, Talon Rowland, Landon Stormer, Roan Kelly and Gavin Stearns are all eligible to compete for Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Frewsburg/Randolph’s 800-meter relay team, which qualified with a time of 1:32.47.
Dunkirk’s 1,600-meter relay team qualified with a time of 3:31.44. Seniors Jordan Lockett and Alexander Procknal, juniors Lucas Lawrie, Michael Hanlon and Jorge Hasbun, and sophomore Johnee Thomas are all eligible to compete for the Marauders.
Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Frewsburg/Randolph juniors Stormer and Rowland will compete in the 300 meters. Stormer’s qualifying time was 35.28 seconds and Rowland’s was 36.40 seconds.
Salamanca junior Arlen Newark will run in the 600 meters. His qualifying time was 1:24.05.
Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Frewsburg/Randolph’s Kelly will compete in the 1,600 meters. His qualifying time was 4:21.08.
Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Frewsburg/Randolph senior Corinne Inkley qualified for the girls pole vault at a height of 10 feet, 9 inches.
Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Frewsburg/Randolph senior Clayton Crouse qualified for the boys pole vault at a height of 12 feet, 6 inches.
Track competition will begin at 9 a.m.
Trials for the boys 1,600 meters are set for 11:50 a.m. with the final at 2:50 p.m.
The boys 1,600-meter relay trials are scheduled for 11:50 a.m. with the final at 4:55 p.m.
The boys 800-meter relay trials are set for 12:25 p.m. with the final at 5:15 p.m.
At 1:40 p.m., the boys 300-meter dash trials are scheduled. The final is set for 3:50 p.m.
The boys 600-meter run final is set for 2:10 p.m.
Field event competition begins at 8:45 a.m.
The boys pole vault will take place at 9 a.m. with the girls beginning at 11:45 a.m.
State championships are an all-digital ticketed event on the GoFan platform. Tickets are $11.50, which includes all fees.
