Gibbs airs it out in CL/W/B’s 42-0 victory
CUBA — Brayden Gibbs went 16 of 23 for 263 yards and four touchdowns to lead Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton past Portville/Cuba-Rushford/Bolivar-Richburg 42-0 in Class C South football Friday.
Carson Fairbank caught six passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns, Asher Olson had four catches for 104 yards and a touchdown, and Devin Hewes caught five passes for 42 yards and a touchdown for the Eagles (2-0, 1-0). Thandon Bensink ran 10 times for 59 yards.
Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton led 21-0 at halftime on Gibbs touchdown passes of 50 yards to Olson, 55 yards to Fairbank and 3 yards to Hewes. After halftime, Gibbs ran for a 1-yard score and threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Fairbank.
The Eagles’ final score came on Aiden Woodis’ 23-yard interception return for a touchdown. He intercepted three passes on the night and Bensink recovered a fumble.
Trent Houser had 10 tackles while Olson and Bensink each had seven. Tristen Olson had six tackles while Kieffer Maytum had five tackles, a sack and three tackles for a loss.

BRADLEY, BOWSER SHINE FOR WARRIORS
SPRINGVILLE — Payton Bradley passed for 182 yards and three touchdowns — all to Cam Bowser — and ran for another to send Salamanca to a 35-7 victory over Springville in a Class C South game.
In his first season at quarterback, Bradley completed 9 of 12 passes, five of them going to Bowser, who finished with 123 receiving yards.
Jesse Hill added 97 yards on the ground and Bradley rushed for 54 more, helping the Warriors to improve to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the division.
Defensively, Salamanca was led by Tommy George with nine tackles and a forced fumble; Adrian Taylor had seven stops and a sack; Connor Seeley collected five tackles, including one for loss, and recovered a fumble; Bradley and Remy Follman both intercepted a pass; and Zai Escobar had four tackles and a sack.
Springville dropped to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the division.
