T’wolves knock off Hornets in Division 4
CATTARAUGUS — Grady Merrill scored on back-to-back possessions late in the fourth quarter as Cattaraugus-Little Valley beat Forestville 67-58 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 4 boys basketball Friday.
The teams were tied at 53-all with 6:18 remaining before the Hornets (7-3, 3-1) took the lead on a Patrick Reilly free throw.
The Timberwolves (9-3, 4-1) answered as Tucker Barrick scored for a 55-54 lead before Bransen Gabel’s baseline jumper made it 57-54.
Jacob Anders and Jack Spengler answered for Forestville, which took a 58-57 lead with 2:40 left.
But Merrill scored inside with 2:23 remaining to give his team the lead for good. Merrill, Nyquon Boswell, Barrick and Theron Crawford all made free throws down the stretch for Cattaraugus-Little Valley.
Gabel led five Timberwolves in double figures with 15 points while Owen Wright had 13, Merrill had 12, Barrick had 11 and Crawford had 10.
Jacob Anders led the Hornets with 19 points and Reilly had 14.

CLYMER — Roman Wassink had 18 points, eight rebounds and two steals as Clymer beat Chautauqua Lake 54-47 in Division 2 action.
Blake Beckerink had 13 points and two steals; Carson White had 12 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals; and Eli Mitchell had 9 points, nine rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals for the Pirates (10-4, 7-0).
Clymer led 23-13 at halftime.
Asher Olson led the Eagles (4-8, 2-4) with 14 points, Nick Jacobson had 12 and Joey Abuhmeidan had 10.

FREWSBURG — Trent Lewis scored 12 of his game-high 19 points during a 23-6 first half as Frewsburg beat Cassadaga Valley 47-32 in Division 3.
Lewis added seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and a blocked shot; Isaac Hultberg had 8 points, eight steals and four assists; and Braeden Signorino had six rebounds, five assists and two steals for the Bears (5-8, 3-2).

Kevin McElwain and Broden Brooks led Randolph (8-1, 4-0) with 16 points apiece; Syrai Johnson and Jaxon Morrison each had five assists; and Hunter Foster had seven rebounds.

FARMER GETS HOT FROM DEEP
SALAMANCA — Carlton Farmer hit a pair of 3-pointers during a 16-4 second quarter as Salamanca took control of a 49-41 Division 1 win over Falconer.
Farmer led the Warriors (8-6, 3-3) with 21 points, including six 3-pointers, while Payton Bradley and Dominick Hill chipped in 10 apiece.

BROCTON — Michael Horton had 24 points, six assists, four rebounds and a steal to lift Panama past Brocton 56-46 in Division 2 play Thursday.
The Bulldogs (0-11, 0-5) led 26-21 at halftime before the Panthers (5-6, 2-4) took the lead with a 15-8 third quarter.
