Gowanda and Maple Grove have earned No. 1 seeds in their respective classes in the Section VI baseball playoffs, which begin today in some classes. The top seed in Class C, Gowanda will wait until Tuesday for a quarterfinal matchup while Maple Grove, the top seed in Class D, will wait until next Thursday for a semifinal matchup in its four-team bracket. No. 9 Dunkirk will get postseason play underway today with a Class A2 prequarterfinal at No. 8 Albion. DEPEW — Fredonia is headed to the Section VI Class C flag football championship game after knocking off Depew, the top seed, 32-25 on Wednesday night in the semifinal.
