The Dunkirk Fire Department was called out to a report of a structure fire at the Halas Hotel 92 E. 2nd St. at 1:10 a.m. today.

Upon arrival fire crews found a flames around a rear doorway spreading to the interior of the building. A hose line was quickly deployed and the fire was extinguished with minimal structural damage. The entire building was filled with smoke from the fire and had to be ventilated. There were no occupants at the time of the fire.

Firefighters were at the scene for 45 minutes. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
