A portion of Route 5 was closed Tuesday evening for nearly 30 minutes as emergency crews attended to a motor vehicle accident near East Shorewood Drive at approximately 7:30 p.m.

West Dunkirk Fire Department responded to the accident, which was believed to include minor injuries, according to initial reports.

Fire officials could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.
