COLLINS — A Gowanda man who is accused of killing another Gowanda male last week is facing additional charges.

Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports detectives have charged Brandon White, 32, with third-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor, following the sheriff’s ongoing investigation of a fatal shooting that occurred July 12 in the town of Collins.

Deputies allege the defendant assaulted a female acquaintance, causing severe injuries to her head and face. These charges are related to a domestic violence incident that occurred before the shooting.

White remains at the Erie County Holding Center without bail.

White was previously charged with first-degree manslaughter following the death of Anthony Chipman, 46. The shooting and circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
