Fredonia boys win, advance in playoffs

OBSERVER Staff Report

ALDEN — The Fredonia Hillbillies pulled off a 67-45 victory over Alden in the pre-quarterfinal game in boys playoff basketball.

“I thought the guys did a great job preparing for the game,” said Fredonia coach Greg Lauer. “We watched a lot of film on Alden and they came in knowing what they had to do. I thought our guys came out and did a great job — especially in the second half — to pull away. It was nice to have four guys in double-digits.”

Reid Tarnowski led the Billies with 13 points. He was joined by Tyler Putney and Brayden Myers with 11 points apiece. Keith Piper scored 10 in the victory.

Fredonia’s next game will be played today at MST Seneca.
