EVANS --- The Evans Police Department handled two fatal accidents over a span of 48 hours. The first occurred on Friday afternoon at 3:20 when a Ford pickup towing a trailer was traveling westbound on Southwestern Boulevard at Pontiac Road. It rear-ended a pair of vehicles and then crossed into the eastbound lane of traffic and was struck by a Dodge Journey vehicle. The driver, a 25-year-old from Farnham, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the Dodge, a 43-year-old, was flown by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center.
