Storage barn damaged in fire BROCTON – A storage barn was damaged in a morning fire. According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday around 8:45 a.m. the Brocton Fire Department along with mutual aid departments responded to 37 School St. for a small storage barn fire. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested for an origin and cause. Brady, 61, was observed by Gowanda Police at approximately 10:27 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, when he nearly struck a Gowanda Police vehicle exiting a driveway on Buffalo Street in Gowanda. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – HARMONY – Marcus Wells, 57, of Harmony was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated and DWI per se. Around 5 p.m. deputies were dispatched to assist with a vehicle fire in the town. GARAGES DESTROYED IN WESTFIELD FIRE WESTFIELD — Two garages were destroyed early Friday in a village fire. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department reports at around 3:27 a.m., the Westfield Fire Department responded to 31 Grove St. The fire resulted in a complete loss of the garage and a neighboring garage. Kennedy resident again sentenced for child pornography

A Kennedy resident is being sent to prison for the second time in 10 years for possession of child pornography. U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced Tuesday that Jeffrey Paden, 58, was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison by Chief U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford. Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango, who handled the case, stated that in June 2015, Paden was convicted on a federal charge of possession of child pornography and sentenced to serve 4 years and nine months in prison and 5 years supervised release.
