CORTLAND — Five area residents competed in track & field events at the Empire State Senior Games at SUNY Cortland last month. Suffice it to say, they made Chautauqua County proud. Leading the way was Kay Gould of Blockville. Competing in the 80-84 women’s division, Gould placed first in six events — the 50 meters (12.42), the 5,280-yard race walk (14:18.80), 100 meters (26.94), shot put (7.56 meters), discus (16.93 meters) and javelin (13.57 meters).
