Class on beekeeping planned at Audubon

JAMESTOWN – Keeping honeybees can be a daunting and complicated task.

Audubon Community Nature Center is offering an opportunity to learn about the basic equipment and skills you need to keep your own hives of honeybees.

The program on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. will cover everything you need to start up with beekeeping.

This workshop will be taught by Dennis and Laura Lamonica, owners of the Panama Bee Farm and longtime beekeepers.

Fee for the class is $16, $12 for members and youth 9 to 15.

Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren.
