The Fredonia Garden Club members had a busy fall and winter season with many enriching events.

In October, members visited the Turnbull Nursery & Garden Center in North Collins and were treated to a pruning lecture by Ken Lawton, followed by a tour of the tree grove. The members found the lecture very informative and the garden areas inspirational and relaxing.

A fundraiser benefiting the Fredonia Garden Club was held at the Forestville Fall Fest on Oct. 5 and 6 where members donated gift baskets and handmade suet cup birdfeeders for a Chinese auction.

On Oct. 10, five Fredonia Garden Club members attended the District VII Fall meeting luncheon at the Columns in Elma.

On Oct. 12, the Silver Creek/Hanover members invited the Fredonia Garden Club to join them at the Silver Creek Senior Center to listen to guest lecturer Marilyn O’Connell speak about Wild Birds Unlimited; desserts were served.

On Dec. 10, member Kathy Buckley once again opened her home for a lovely Christmas Buffet featuring a variety of delicious foods and desserts. The members participated in cookie and gift exchange, as well as donating non-perishable food items to the Forestville Food Pantry. Members also participated in the annual tradition of decorating the WCA Home’s parlor areas with Christmas decorations, as well as placing Christmas wreaths on the Opera House doors.

On Jan. 14, the members gathered at Rosemary Mancuso’s home to plan the 2020-2021 yearbook. And on Jan. 28, members were excited to partake in the “Small Business Revolution” reveal event at the Opera House.
