Geise makes visit to Westfield Rotary

Mark Geise, Deputy County Executive for Economic Development and CEO of the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency, was the guest presenter to the Westfield-Rotary Club.

He explained the functions of the IDA and the various components held within. He shared a Powerpoint presentation outlining the many economic development projects that he and his team have and are working on.

He explained how the county has regrouped different initiatives to work as one team and that this has created a synergy that wasn’t possible before. Geise explained about the many projects and dollars that were secured under his leadership which included but not limited to: the Hideaway Bay development, the Westfield Welch building, Webb’s hotel, county land bank, Jamestown’s Furniture Mart, Fredonia’s White Inn initiative, the former Silver Creek School building repurposing, Ripley Gateway Center, Dunkirk’s NRG plant, $10.5 million loan fund for 50 companies for working capital, grants for marketing, Mayville’s waterfront activation project, Chadakoin River project, the Barcelona to Chautauqua institution trail and the development of a solar decommissioning template for municipalities to put into local zoning laws.
