Fredonia musical begins March 17

Lenten recital

set for March 22

The First United Presbyterian Church of Dunkirk, located at 19 W. Fourth St., will present a Lenten Recital on Wednesday, March 22, at noon in the church sanctuary. Don Fellows, organist, will perform.

Don Fellows, recently retired as Organist and Director of Music of Saint Paul R.C. Cathedral, Pittsburgh from 1999 to 2021, was named Director of Music Emeritus there this past year. Previously he has served churches in Ogdensburg, Chicago, Buffalo, and Dunkirk. A Glen Cove, N.Y. native, he earned the Bachelor of Music degree and Master of Music degree from the State University of New York at Fredonia in 1980 and 1987.

This free musical program is designed to provide members of the church community and the general public with an opportunity for a period of peaceful reflection and contemplation during the hour at mid-week, throughout the Advent and Lenten seasons.

Towel Bingo

is Sunday in Brocton

BROCTON — The Preceptor Beta Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi is sponsoring its 20th Annual Towel Bingo at the Brocton American Legion, Post 434, 110 W. Main St., Brocton from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Doors open at noon.

A variety of colorful bath and beach towels are available for winners of this unique bingo game. A Chinese auction and 50-50 drawings will be held during the afternoon and a variety of delicious treats, punch and coffee will be served during intermission.

Money raised from this entertaining event is donated locally throughout the year to assist families, individuals and organizations in need of financial help or going through difficult times.

Ukulele group gathers Saturday

Fredonia ukulele group will be gathering Saturday at Domus Fare Restaurant, 41 W. Main St., Fredonia, from 6 to 8 p.m. No experience is necessary. The goal is to have fun and to make music. Ukuleles provided or bring your own. Play, sing, or just enjoy listening. Come and go as you please.
