May events planned for Anderson-Lee Library

All ages are invited to Anderson-Lee Library on Thursday, May 8 at 6 p.m. for a presentation on Model Railroading. Come learn about this fascinating hobby and see a model railroad in action!
SILVER CREEK — Anderson-Lee Library, located at 43 Main St. in Silver Creek has announced programming for the month of May. Programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program. You can also sign up for email/text reminders when you register online! The library will be closed Monday, May 26 for Memorial Day.
Upcoming events include:
— Lego Club for ages 5-12, Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Build the challenge of the day, pick a challenge card or free build. Your choice! Limit of 10 children and pre-registration is required.
— Create a Book Bouquet, for ages 16 and older, Tuesday, May 6 at 6 p.m. Using a used book and silk flowers we will create a lovely spring display! All materials are provided. Please bring a pair of wire cutters if you have one. Pre-registration is required.
— Model Railroading with Dustin Long, Thursday, May 8 at 6 p.m. Come learn about the hobby of model railroading! Our presenter, Dustin Long, is a resident of Silver Creek, enjoys model railroading with his kids, and is a member of the Gowanda and Buffalo Model Railroad Club. He enjoys sharing the hobby and its joys with anyone who will listen. Come learn about the hobby and see a working model railroad that Dustin has put together for us to enjoy. All ages are welcome. Please pre-register.
— Pre-school Storytime for children ages 2-5 on Thursday mornings May 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 with Miss Jill at 10:30 a.m. Children will participate in reading, singing, rhymes and fun crafts. Pre-registration is requested.
— School Age Storytime for children 6-12 years of age on Thursday mornings May 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 10:30 am with Miss Amy. Stories, crafts, games, and other activities are offered. Pre-registration is requested.
— The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Fridays from 2-4 p.m. This club is for all who love handiwork. Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). Come and learn or come and work on a project with others who love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt etc.! No registration required. You do not need to commit to each week to attend. Please stop in and stitch!
Anderson-Lee Library is open to the public Monday and Tuesday from 12-8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library is closed Wednesday and Sunday.
