Opera House to host bake sale, basket auction fundraiser

The 1891 Fredonia Opera House will hold a special Bake Sale & Basket Auction fund-raiser on Saturday, in Fredonia’s East Barker Common as part of the Fredonia Farmers’ Market. Proceeds benefit the Opera House’s general operations and programming. Opera House Executive Director Rick Davis says that the event is annually in June during Attic & Seller Weekend. A variety of delicious baked goods will be for sale; and 11 baskets and pieces of artwork will be raffled off using a Basket Auction format. Play competition coming in June in Westfield

WESTFIELD — There is something happening in Westfield, inside a local church, that many locals are slowly finding out about. It’s the Juice Box One Act Playwriting Competition, featuring plays from all over the world. This year, 10 plays are being offered over the course of four nights: June 10 to 13.
