Play competition coming in June in Westfield

WESTFIELD — There is something happening in Westfield, inside a local church, that many locals are slowly finding out about. It’s the Juice Box One Act Playwriting Competition, featuring plays from all over the world. This year, 10 plays are being offered over the course of four nights: June 10 to 13. Jazz ensembles earn three DownBeat Student Music Awards

The State University of New York at Fredonia has earned three honors in DownBeat Magazine’s annual Student Music Awards, adding another major achievement to the university’s growing national reputation in jazz education. The Fredonia Jazz Flextet received Outstanding Performance honors in the Blues/Pop/Rock Group category for Undergraduate College ensembles. ‘Hearsemania’ coming to Fredonia on June 12

Attention antique car enthusiasts, historians and cemetery fans — "Hearsemania" is coming to Fredonia-Pomfret on June 12 for a special event. "Hearsemania" features antique cars — many of the vehicles a funeral-related (hearses, flower cars and ambulances) along with other antique cars. There will be an antique car show with the vehicles on Barker and Church Streets next to Barker Commons from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. Promoter of canceled shows won’t be on future Reg schedules

A pair of canceled performances at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts in recent weeks are not uncommon to Jamestown by the shows’ promoter. Moxie Events, the promoter of the canceled Magic of Motown and the Ultimate Eagle Tribute Concert, has had several such cancellations around the country, particularly with the Magic of Motown show.
