Silver Creek Senior Citizens hear about Flag Day

SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Seniors met on June 13 with 36 members present.

Sally Conover opened the meeting with the Pledge to the Flag and all singing God Bless America. She then welcomed Brian, John, David and Marie as guests. Pauline Flitt asked for God’s blessing on the members and food. Deanna Borrello passed out flag related favors from the American Legion and spoke about Flag Day.

The catered lunch included chicken carbonara, tossed salad and garlic bread. Members provided desserts. The 50-50 winners were Pauline, Carol DePasquale and Don. Winners of the gifts were Becky Fancher, Joan Suski and Pauline. Wheel of Fortune lucky winners included: Earl Sheeler, John (twice), Sally, Harry Suski and Lorrie Newman. Sally called bingo and winners included Pauline (twice), Ruth Sheeler, Annette Hoeber (twice), Dixie Carlson, Kim Adams, Eleanor Lemiszko, Brian, and Gene Chesbro.

Stan Thompson has donated two hams for next week’s lunch and members will bring supplemental dishes. Also, the group will have cake and ice cream to celebrate May, June and July birthdays.
