Brocton Portland Seniors Fun knows no bounds when the Brocton Portland Seniors meet and that included the Jan. 28 meeting when 33 senior citizens braved the elements to come to the John W Dill Post 434 in Brocton for the tureen luncheon. The meeting began with Past President Tom DeJoe installing the new President for 2020, Margaret Jagoda. Office for the Aging offers cold weather tips for older adults

The New York State Office for the Aging reminds older New Yorkers and caregivers to take precautions in winter weather, as cold temperatures and heavy snow can create hazardous conditions for older adults. “Ice, snow, and cold temperatures can be a challenge for everyone, but can be particularly dangerous for older adults, who need to be aware of what they must do — or not do — to best protect their health,” said Acting Director Greg Olsen. “Many older adults also have less social contact during winter months, which can lead to loneliness and isolation. Collins Center Seniors The next meeting for the Collins Center Seniors will be Monday, Feb. 24 at the Gowanda American Legion with a potluck lunch at noon followed by a short meeting and nominations for officers. JAMESTOWN — Janell Sluga and Tiffany Erhard from the Senior Life Matters program at Lutheran will be hosting a free seminar on Medicare Special Enrollment Periods.
