Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Meffert

Jessica Ryan Zielinski and Christopher Scott Meffert were united in marriage on May 19, 2013 at 2 p.m. in a traditional ceremony at The Branford Evangelical Free Church in Branford, Conn. The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Wayne Jacobson, recently retired from the Church of Christ Congregational Church in Stony Creek, Conn. Music was provided by pianist Cybil Jones-Juarez of New Haven, Conn.

The bride is the daughter of David Robert and Sherri Lynn Zielinski of Sheridan. She is the granddaughter of Robert J. and Joan P. Zielinski of Dunkirk. The groom is the son of Steven Anthony Meffert of Stony Creek, Conn. and the late Karen Elizabeth Meffert.

The bride was escorted by her father. Her mother served as matron of honor and stood beside her at the altar. Her best friend Cheryl Lynn Brockman of Yokota Air Base in Japan served as maid of honor and delivered a speech at the reception. Bridesmaids included sister of the groom Stephanie Anna Meffert of Stony Creek, Conn.; friend of the bride Tasia L. Reed of Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany; and friend of the bride Melissa Denise Piccoli of Gig Harbor, Wash.

The groom was attended by friend and best man Stephen Francis Palumbo Jr. of Stony Creek, Conn., Groomsmen included friend of the groom Jesse Patrick Boardman of Tuscon, Ariz.; and friend of the groom Frank Stephen Palumbo of Stony Brook, Conn.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in Branford, Conn. at Bill Miller’s Castle.

The bride graduated from Highland High School in Illinois and the Community College of the Air Force, where she earned an associate’s degree. She is currently attending the University of New Haven in Conn. and serves as an intern with the local power company United Illuminating, on an energy conservation project called “Clean Energy Communities.”

The groom graduated from Branford High School in Conn. and the Community College of the Air Force, where he earned an associate’s degree. He is currently attending the University of New Haven in Conn. and serving as an intern for the University of New Haven on a solar panel installation project.

The couple honeymooned in the Caribbean on a seven-day Royal Caribbean cruise. They visited Nassau Bahamas, St. Maarten and St. Thomas. They returned to their home in Madison, Conn.
