FALCONER — On Dec. 23, state troopers pulled over a vehicle on I-86 for a traffic violation. While speaking to the driver, Evan Dlugos, 23, of Effingham, Illinois, troopers allegedly smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. A search of Dlugos and his vehicle revealed a jar containing 15 grams of marijuana. Dlugos was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and issued an appearance ticket and traffic ticket.

≤ FREWSBURG — On Dec. 22, state troopers and the Town of Carroll Police Department responded to Austin Hill Road for a report of a two-car motor vehicle accident. Investigation revealed that Richard Whisner, 50, of Frewsburg, struck an unoccupied vehicle, causing extensive damage to both. Whisner fled the scene, but was located by troopers soon after in an allegedly intoxicated condition. Whisner was arrested for DWI and transported to State Police Jamestown, where he refused to provide a breath sample. He was then processed, arraigned in the Town of Carroll Court, and released on his own recognizance.

Westfield Police Department

≤ On Dec. 25 at approximately 8:20 p.m., Westfield police stopped a motor vehicle on South Portage Street for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver, Jason D. White, 36, of Fredonia, was allegedly found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. White was issued a traffic ticket and released from the scene.

≤ On Dec. 21 at around 5:44 p.m., Westfield Police received a complaint of a vehicle traveling on Route 394 from Mayville into Westfield. Patrol observed the vehicle in question and after following a short distance, the vehicle is alleged to have crossed the white hazard markings on more than one occassion. Investigation found the operator, Stephen L. Hanks, 67, of Brocton, was allegedly operating on a revoked and suspended New York State driver’s license. Hanks was issued traffic tickets for aggravated unlicensed operator in the 2nd degree, unlicensed operator, and drove across hazard marking.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

ELLICOTT — On Dec. 22 at about 10:34 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on Fairmount Avenue for having less than two functioning headlights. The operator, Rachel A. Olson, 38, of Jamestown, was allegedly found to be intoxicated after an investigation. Olson was charged with DWI, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater and no/inadequate headlights.

≤ CHAUTAUQUA — On Dec. 22 at around 7:25 p.m., Deputies responded to a one vehicle, personal injury accident on Chautauqua Stedman Road. It was determined that James T. Glover, 42, of Mayville, lost control of his vehicle and struck a telephone pole. Glover, who sustained an arm injury during the incident, was allegedly found to be intoxicated. He was charged with DWI, speed not reasonable, and failure to keep right.
