Teens injured in Thursday crash

PORTLAND — Two teenagers were treated for minor injuries after a rollover accident on Route 380 on Thursday evening.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to the incident Route 380 around 7:30 p.m. The occupants of the vehicle were found to be a 17-year-old male driver and a 16-year-old male passenger.

The driver was issued traffic citations for speed not reasonable and prudent, failure to keep right, and driving across hazard markings.The driver was released and will be in Portland court at a later date to answer the charges.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Portland and Brocton Fire and EMS.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

FORESTVILLE — On Wednesday, deputies received a complaint that Joshua M. Cross, 30, of Forestville was violating an order of protection between himself and a protected party. Through their investigation, deputies were able to determine that an active stay-away order was in place between the parties and that Cross had violated it.

A warrant for Cross was then applied for and issued through the town of Sheridan court. Cross was taken into custody on the warrant and arraigned in the Sheridan Town Court on charges of second-degree aggravated harassment and second-degree criminal contempt. He was then remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 property.

Westfield Police Department

On Wednesday at approximately 4:40 p.m., patrols stopped a vehicle for an alleged speeding violation on Chestnut Street in the village of Westfield.

After an investigation, it was found that the operator of the vehicle, David A. Whitmore, 28, of Ashville was allegedly operating on a suspended class E New York state driver’s license. Whitmore was released with traffic tickets for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator and speed in zone. Whitmore will responded to his charges in the village of Westfield court at a later date.
