Irving man charged after accident

SHERIDAN — An Irving man has been charged after a motor-vehicle accident.

At about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies were called to the incident in the town. Upon arrival the operator identified himself as a James E. Burns.

After an investigation it was found that Burns was found to be driving while intoxicated. Burns, 62, was taken into custody and charged with moving from lane unsafely, refusal to take breath test, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and driving while intoxicated.

Burns will be at the town of Sheridan court at a later date to answer to his charges.

Hamburg man charged after Silver Creek incident

SILVER CREEK — Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies reported a property damage accident on Main Street.

At about 3:13 p.m. Tuesday, deputies were called to the incident. Upon arrival the operator identified himself as Robert W. Roll, 31, of Hamburg. After an investigation it was found that Roll was found to be driving while under the influence of drugs.

He was taken into custody and was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. He will be in the village of Silver Creek Court at a later date to answer to the charges of driving while ability impaired by drugs, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operator, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and moving from lane unsafely.

Jamestown man faces drug charges

HINSDALE — A Jamestown man is facing drug possession charges after the vehicle he was riding in was pulled over by New York State Police at Olean.

Troopers charged Javier A. Moreno, 23, with criminal possession of a hallucinogen and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana. During a traffic stop on Interstate 86 in the town of Hinsdale, Moreno, a passenger, was found to be in possession of psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana.

Moreno was arraigned in Olean Town Court, where he was released on $250 bail. He is due to appear in Hinsdale Town Court later this month.
