¯ SPRINGVILLE — Following a traffic stop and investigation on Waverly Street on Thursday, deputies arrested and charged three individuals with misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance after a quantity of methamphetamine was found in their possession.

Charged are 24-year-old Brandon Bain of Otto, 43-year-old Margaret Barber of Delevan, and 26-year-old Evan Black of Collins.

Deputies discovered Black had an outstanding warrant from the Village of Arcade and the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office. He was turned over to Cattaraugus County deputies. The other defendants were released on appearance tickets.

¯ SPRINGVILLE — Deputies identified an individual with outstanding warrants at a convenience store around 11 p.m. Thursday. When the deputy initiated a traffic stop on the northbound section of Route 219, the driver was observed throwing items out of the vehicle’s window.

Patrol recovered a bag of cocaine, a bag of crystal methamphetamine, and a glass pipe with meth residue. A search of the vehicle recovered a scale with narcotic residue, another pipe with residue, and a quantity of Suboxone strips.

Deputies arrested and charged 38-year-old Jacob Lester of Angola with felony counts of criminal possession of cocaine and tampering with physical evidence. Lester is also charged with criminal use of drug paraphernalia, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Lester also had two active arrest warrants out of the Town of Hamburg; Hamburg Police were notified of the arrest and his location.

The defendant is held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.

¯ BRANT – Deputies stopped a vehicle along Versailles Plank Road after observing vehicle and traffic violations around 1 a.m. Friday. During the investigation, deputies discovered a crack pipe in the passenger’s possession. The passenger, 26-year-old Kayla Swantek of Brant was placed into custody. Deputies also discovered a bag of heroin secreted in her apparel.

Swantek is charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a narcotic and concealing physical evidence. She is also charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The defendant is held at the holding center pending her arraignment.
