— IRVING — An Irving man has been charged with assault after an incident early Sunday morning.

At about 12:01 a.m., Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies with the assistance of the Seneca Marshals responded to an address for a report of an in progress assault. Following an investigation it was determined that Thunderhawk Parker, 21, repeatedly kicked another individual while they laid in a curled up defensive position.

Parker was taken into custody and charged with third-degree assault and second-degree aggravated harassment. He was transported to the Chautauqua County jail pending centralized arraignment. Parker will later answer charges in the Town of Hanover Court.

— HANOVER — Two Jamestown residents are facing charges after being found with methamphetamine during a traffic stop.

At about 9:17 p.m. Thursday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 5 and 20 for multiple traffic violations. An investigation revealed that the operator, Nicholas S. Evans, 28, and a passenger, Kathleen M, Sherwood, 38, were in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine.

Evans and Sherwood were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Evans also was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, no/inadequate stop lamps and moving from lane unsafely.

Both were taken into custody and later released with appearance tickets.

They are scheduled to be in the Town of Hanover court at a later date.

— At about 1:39 a.m. Saturday, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the McMobile on Route 60 in the town of Ellicott for a motor vehicle accident.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as 46-year-old Shane E. Dalrymple from Falconer. Upon further investigation, Dalrymple was found to be driving while intoxicated.

Dalrymple was taken into custody and transported to Ellicott Police Department for processing. Dalrymple was charged with DWI, DWI per se, and moving from lane unsafely.

Dalrymple was released with tickets to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court on a later date and time.
