CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

PORTLAND — Deputies assisted Friday morning in locating a distraught subject who has fled from a town residence on Route 380 around 10:46 a.m.

Upon arriving at the location, deputies were told the subject was reportedly despondent and had made comments about self harm. Deputies were able to determine the subject had crossed over the roadway and headed across an open farm field towards a wooded area.

K9 Drake was brought in to assist in the search and began a track of the subject. K9 Drake did locate the subject around half a mile from the road in a brushy area. The subject was located laying on the ground in clothing not suitable for the conditions.

Deputies did request EMS for the subject with the Brocton and Portland Fire Departments responding to the scene to render care. The subject was then transported by EMS to UPMC Chautauqua for further care.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

On Nov. 9, Troopers out of Warsaw with the assistance of New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision charged Cindy S. Frank., 49, of Jamestown, with second-degree promoting prison contraband and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Troopers said Frank had marijuana and suboxone strips on her while inside the Attica Correctional Facility. She was transported to Warsaw for processing and released on appearance tickets returnable to Attica town court at a later date.
