¯ SILVER CREEK — Donna E. Layman, 50, of Irving, was charged with petit larceny. Deputies were called at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday to a reported shoplifting at a Route 5 business in Silver Creek.

An employee said a person inside the store attempted to take items and conceal them in a purse.

An investigation found that Layman had items in her purse that she didn’t pay for after leaving the business.

Layman is scheduled to appear in court later.

¯ KENNEDY — An 18-year-old Kennedy man was charged with sexual misconduct.

Deputies on Jan. 25 began an investigation into a suspicious situation. It was found that an 18-year-old allegedly engaged in a sexual relationship with a juvenile.

The 18-year-old was taken into custody Wednesday and is scheduled to appear in Poland Town Court later.
