Pair Facing Charges After Warrant Issued

STOCKTON — A father and son have been charged after area police agencies served a search warrant at a town residence.

At 5:30 p.m. Friday, members of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol, and Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force served the warrant at 6444 Bowers Road, without incident, the residence of Scott W. Steinhoff, 59. Narcotics, an illegal firearm and drug paraphernalia were located in the residence.

After the search warrant Steinhoff and his son Nathaniel Steinhoff, 22, were charged. The father faces third-degree criminal Possession of a weapon, a felony, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal Possession of a controlled substance and criminally using drug paraphernalia. The son was charged with the same charges with the exception of fifth-degree criminal Possession of a controlled substance.

Both men were taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF

SILVER CREEK — At 5:30 p.m. Friday, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies on patrol stopped a vehicle on Route 20 in the village for an alleged traffic violation. The operator was identified as John E. Smith, 60, of Silver Creek. An investigation found that Smith was intoxicated while operating the vehicle.

Smith was placed into custody and transported to the Hanover Substation for processing. He was later released with citations to be in the Town of Hanover Court at a later date.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

ALLEGANY — On Saturday, State Police at Olean charged Lennox B. Wilson, 28, of Persia with petit larceny.

Troopers investigating a reported larceny from August of Porsche valve tire caps and $5.00 from a vehicle determined Wilson to be responsible for the theft on State Route 417.

Wilson was arrested and released with an appearance ticket for Allegany Town Court, where he is due to be later this month.
