Fire destroys structure

Photos by Dan Kohler Crews from numerous departments responded to a structure fire at 6807 Plank Road in Mayville. The fire occurred around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and destroyed the site. Responding departments included: Chautauqua County EMS, Sherman, Panama, Westfield, Chautauqua, Maple Springs, Brocton, Portland and Stockton.

According to officials, at about 4: 51 p.m., the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division received a complaint taking place in the jail. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Jack E. Wyant, 21, of Falconer, was charged May 27 with aggravated criminal contempt, and third-degree assault. According to police, at about 11:04 p.m., officers, and the New York State Police responded to an in-progress domestic dispute on the east side. Through investigation, it was discovered that Wyant allegedly engaged in a physical altercation causing physical injuries to the victim. Officers also discovered the victim had an active order of protection against Wyant. Wyant was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown City Jail without incident. ...
