Bauer, 20, of Pomfret was charged Sunday morning with second-degree harassment, fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree strangulation, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — ELLERY — After 11:30 p.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 430. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Drew C. Whidden, 46, of Bemus Point. Further investigation found Whidden to have been driving while intoxicated. Whidden was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI (BAC .18 or higher), and moving from lane unsafely. He will be in town court later. Around 9:45 p.m. Swan was involved in a motor vehicle accident in the town of Sherman and was charged following an investigation.

A Jamestown man has been released after being convicted for his role in drug activities in the city. U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross has announced that Kevin Hughes, 64, who was convicted of narcotics conspiracy, was sentenced to time served (approximately 17 months) by U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A.
