MAN CHARGED AFTER DIGGING UP TIME CAPSULE GERRY --- Deputies were notified of a man digging up the Town of Gerry's time capsule without permission. Deputies on scene found that 69-year-old Dennis R Torrey of Jamestown had unlawfully dug up the time capsule damaging the concrete that encased it. Torrey was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and was released with an appearance ticket with orders to appear in the Town of Gerry Court at a later date. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – SHERIDAN – Gary A. Lang, 56, of Deer Street, Dunkirk was charged Tuesday with petit larceny. Deputies said they received a complaint of a prowler at a residence on Rt. 20 in the town of Sheridan around 1:30 a.m. Further investigation into this complaint by the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division led to Lang being identified via security footage from this residence looking in the windows. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — STOCKTON — At about 4:16 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to an address for a report of damaged property. Upon arrival deputies did locate 39-year-old Justin Horton of Stockton. Following an investigation, it was determined that Horton intentionally damaged the property of another with no reasonable right to do so. According to a police report, Abigail Thompson, 22, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child while Austin Wynn, 24, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. ELLICOTT POLICE - Tevin Lise, 33, of Falconer was charged with second-degree menacing, second-degree criminal impersonation and parole absconder warrant at 11:10 a.m. Saturday after Ellicott police officers responded to a domestic incident where it is alleged Lise had a valid parole warrant and was possibly armed with a firearm. Ellicott police officers were assisted by the State Police and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office; the agencies were able to take Lise into custody without incident.
