Evans board to meet Wednesday

EVANS — The Evans Town Board will be holding a Special Meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday to audit bills, solicit public comment on the schematic designs for repairs to the Sturgeon Point Marina’s western breakwater and any other business.

Bike, Dice Run is Aug. 21

BROCTON — The American Legion Riders of Western New York, Chautauqua County is having its annual Bike, Dice Run on Saturday, Aug. 21. It will be at the John W. Dill Post 434 Brocton American Legion. Registration is from 9 to 10 a.m. with kickstands up at 10. Cost for single is $15, with rider $20. Dice $5.

Food will be provided. A Chinese auction and 50-50 drawing will take place. All proceeds will be used in helping our local veterans.

Portland fire to discuss budget

PORTLAND — There will be a budget workshop meeting held at the Portland Fire Hall on Monday, Aug. 23 at 7 pm, for the review of the 2022 budget of the Portland Fire District and any other business that may come before the board.

Plant sale set for Aug. 21

MAYVILLE — From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 21, the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy and Chautauqua Marina at 104 West Lake Road, will be offering a native plant sale, with proceeds benefitting CWC and Chautauqua Lake. A variety of native plants will be available for sale from Royal Fern Nursery, Amanda’s Garden, Hickory Hurst Farm and Turnbull Nursery. Admission is free, and the event will be held rain or shine.

Masks will be required if indoors. Guided educational lakeside buffer walks will also be offered, weather permitting.

Sheridan plans concert Aug. 25

Concert on the Commons featuring the Cassadaga Area Community Band, 2777 Route 20, Sheridan, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25. Refreshments will be available and benefit the Sheridan VFW Auxiliary and the Sheridan Historical Society.

Cub Scouts plan open house

Fredonia Cub Scout Pack 267 invites all interested families with children entering kindergarten through fifth grade to attend an Open House Pack Meeting on Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. in the lower pavilion of Russell Joy Park.

Families will have the opportunity to meet Den Leaders and get information about the upcoming scouting year. All children who attend will be able to participate in planned activities.
