Toastmasters plan Zoom meeting

Toastmasters International has helped innumerable people all over the world to become better communicators, presenters and speakers. This month, residents have the opportunity to check out how a Toastmasters Club works over Zoom. It costs nothing to sign up for the meeting as a guest.

The meeting starts at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 27.

Sons of Legion meet Oct. 26

Sons of the American Legion Squadron 59 will be holding its monthly meeting, Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. at Post 59, 156 E. Main St., Fredonia.

On the agenda will be plans for a Turkey Bingo fundraiser being held on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. for members and guests at Post 59. Squadron 59 Commander Rodney Dzidcuh will continue the role of calling the numbers.

The Sons of the American Legion, is an organization made up of male descendants from veterans of World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Military Operations of Lebanon, Grenada, Panama and from the Persian Gulf War/War on Terrorism. Members support programs in Veterans Rehabilitation, Children and Youth, Student Scholarships and Community Affairs.

Road closure planned

ELLINGTON — Waterboro Hill Road in the town of Ellington, between Bush Road and Route 62, will be closed to all traffic today and Wednesday. The closure is for replacement of a culvert and a detour will be posted.
