Quilters guild to resume events

WESTFIELD — After a more than two years, the Westfield Quilters’ Guild is resuming its calendar of events. In June the group will welcome a national speaker, Heidi Pridemore of The Whimsical Workshop in Arizona. Her lecture will be on Saturday, June 11, at 10 a.m. Her topic is “How to Pick Fabrics and Threads for Your Next Project with Confidence.” Her lecture will give a sneak peek at how the fabric industry uses patterns to create fabrics based on her 22 years of experience designing both fabrics and projects for the industry. She will show those attending how to use color, pattern, scale and value to mix fabrics together to create a desired look. Pridemore will discuss different quilt styles and how color and patterns used in the project enhance the final look. Finally she will cover how to pick the right threads for the job based on weight and color. The lecture is open to all Westfield Quilters’ Guild members. Non members are welcome at $5 per person. After the meeting, Pridemore will hold a stacking basket workshop. There are still four open spots; the cost is $30.

Starting at $3.50/week.
