COI raises $2,600 for pantries Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. (COI) employees have generously donated a total of $2,600 to support eight local food pantries across Chautauqua County. Each pantry — including Chautauqua County Rural Ministry in Dunkirk, Twice Fed Food Pantry in Cherry Creek, Northside Food Pantry in Jamestown, Panama United Methodist Church, and food pantries in Sinclairville, Westfield, Mayville, and Forestville — received $325 to help provide food for community members in need. Church of Christ plans free community meal GOWANDA — The Trinity United Church, located at Erie Avenue and Park Street, Gowanda, will host a take-out only free community meal at the Park Street entrance on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. or gone. The menu is meatloaf, mashed potatoes, vegetable, bread and cookie. Free will donations are appreciated but not necessary. All donations are used to help other organizations in the Gowanda community. As part of its commitment to celebrate learning and academic achievement in WNY, SUNY Fredonia, with the support of the Fredonia College Foundation, is proud to announce it is an official 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee regional partner to give local students and schools the opportunity to participate in America’s longest-running educational competition.
