Rosas hopes to get vaccination clinic in city

Dunkirk Mayor Wilfred Rosas has recently been in contact with county and state health officials in hopes of bringing a COVID-19 vaccination clinic to the city. “The city has been working with the Chautauqua County Health Department as well as the New York State Health Department to bring vaccination sessions for COVID-19 here to the city of Dunkirk,” Rosas told members of the Dunkirk Common Council. “Hopefully this will be happening relatively soon. Another COVID-related death was reported Thursday by the Chautauqua County Department of Health. The death, which appears to be a person over the age of 90, marks five in the last week, 20 since the beginning of January and 52 to date. Of the deaths noted thus far during the pandemic, four have included people between the ages of 40 and 49; three between 50 and 59; five between 60 and 69; 14 between 70 and 79; 21 between 80 and 89; and five over the age of 90. 84 new COVID cases, 51st death reported in county

Eighty-four new cases and another COVID-related death were reported Wednesday by the Chautauqua County Department of Health. To date, 51 people have died due to complications associated with the virus. The newest death appears to be a person between the ages of 70 and 79, according to the health department. Of the 84 new cases for data collected Tuesday, 18 involve people living in the Dunkirk zip code, 10 in Fredonia, 17 in Jamestown, 11 in Bemus Point and six in Westfield.
