Rate of COVID cases trend upward in county

After a couple of weeks with new COVID-19 cases trending downward in Chautauqua County, the rate appears to be going in the other direction. The county Health Department on Wednesday announced 313 new cases for the week ending Oct. 30 along with five new virus-related deaths. To date there have been 13,441 confirmed cases of COVID in the county, 12,934 recoveries and 211 deaths. County sees slight bump in rate of new weekly COVID cases

The county Health Department reported 288 new cases of COVID-19, along with six new virus-related deaths, for the week ending Oct. 23. The new cases pushes the county's total past 13,000 to date. There have been 13,129 confirmed cases as well as 12,671 total recoveries and 206 deaths. There are currently 252 active cases of COVID-19 in the county, 21 people with the virus in the hospital, 540 in the hospital and a seven-day positivity rate of 5.8%. County reports 433 new COVID cases last week, 3 new deaths

The rate of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 has slowed slightly in Chautauqua County, according to weekly information released this morning by the health department. From Oct. 3 to Oct. 9, there were 433 new cases of the virus along with three new virus-related deaths. There are currently 331 active cases, 33 people with the virus in the hospital and 700 people in quarantine. New COVID cases have increased each week

The Chautauqua County Department of Health reported 579 new cases of COVID-19 for the week ending Oct. 2. The county also noted four virus-related deaths, marking 189 to date. The health department recently changed its reporting method of COVID statistics, going from a daily report to a weekly report. The state still keeps track of daily COVID information. 2 new virus deaths reported as county crosses 12K cases

Two new COVID-19-related deaths were reported Thursday by the Chautauqua County Department of Health. That raises the total to 183 such fatalities to date in the county. The health department also recorded 84 new cases of the virus, with 35 involving people residing in the Jamestown zip code and 11 in Dunkirk. There are currently 433 active cases, 37 people with the virus in the hospital and 1,287 in quarantine. To date there have been 12,019 total cases and 11,403 recoveries.
