Sheridan site wins funding from Empire State Development

A Chautauqua County location has been selected for funding by Empire State Development under the Focused Attraction of Shovel-Ready Tracts New York program. According to a news release issued Tuesday, the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency is receiving $675,000 for a town of Sheridan effort. COLLINS --- A Florida man has died after being struck by a pickup while walking on state Route 39. State Police in Collins report that at 6:32 a.m. Saturday, the unit responded to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. An investigation determined that a 2013 Dodge Ram was traveling eastbound and struck Patrick E. Kerby, 47 of Fleming, Fla., who was walking in the lane of travel. Three facing drug charges after Fredonia traffic stop

Three Chautauqua County residents are facing drug charges after the Fredonia Police Department conducted a traffic stop after a vehicle was seen violating New York state laws. During a lawful probable cause search of the vehicle at 8:54 p.m. March 20, officers recovered a large quantity of illegal narcotics after the stop at Main Street and Cleveland Avenue.
