Solar Chautauqua launches, holds workshops
Solar Chautauqua will hold workshops in Dunkirk today, in Westfield on Thursday and in Bemus Point on Nov. 15.
JAMESTOWN — Solar Chautauqua officially launched on Oct. 25 with a kickoff event and a conversation at the Audubon Community Nature Center. Residents from throughout the county showed up to hear about solar energy and to ask questions about the installation process, federal and state tax incentives, and how exactly solar panels work. The audience heard from the installers and had the opportunity to sign up for a free solar assessment. Similar workshops will be taking place in Dunkirk today, in Westfield on Nov. 2 and in Bemus Point on Nov. 15.
The Solar Chautauqua campaign is a community initiative from the Chautauqua County Department of Planning and Economic Development that offers affordable solar to homes and businesses in the county. You can benefit from discounted group pricing, federal and New York State tax credits, flexible financing options, and a streamlined installation process. When you go solar, you’ll also lower your monthly electric bills and reduce your impact on the environment. Some have opted for systems that cover close to 100 percent of their electric costs. Don’t miss this exclusive chance to join the solar energy movement in Chautauqua County! Now that the campaign is live, register for a free solar assessment of your home or business by going to www.solarchautauqua.org/enroll-2.
To find out more about the initiative, join us for a workshop in the community. There you’ll be able to ask questions, meet the installers and the campaign team, and hear stories from community members who already benefit from solar energy. Families are welcome and refreshments will be provided! Visit www.solarchautauqua.org and our Facebook page at facebook.com/solarchautauqua/to learn more about the campaign, our workshops, and future scheduled events. Email Solar Chautauqua at solarchautauqua@gmail.com with any questions on how you can go solar.
Today’s workshop will be held at 6:30 p.m. at JCC North County Center, 10807 Bennett Road, Dunkirk. Wednesday’s workshop in Westfield will be held at 6:30 p.m. in Eason Hall, 23 Elm St. The final workshop in Bemus Point will be held on Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. at Maple Grove J.-Sr. High School, 3980 Dutch Hollow Road.
