Jamestown Community College’s Liberty Partnerships Program welcomed middle and high school students from Jamestown, Dunkirk and Salamanca to camp experiences earlier this summer.

Eighteen high school students participated in the four-day overnight “Making Positive Choices” program in June, earning a college credit by attending a daily class. They attended a Jamestown Jammers game and enjoyed an Escape Room experience.

Camp highlights also included a trip to Chautauqua Institution where students were introduced to a poetry makerspace and attended a concert by the Black Violins.

In July, 25 middle school students engaged in the “Think Big” camp program, participating in activities to explore and expand their educational and career horizons.

The students were introduced to concepts from the book “7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens,” participated in a drum circle at Infinity Visual and Performing Arts Center and learned about area athletes at the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame.
