Gowanda woman charged with selling cocaine

EVANS – On May 12 at roughly 11:19 p.m., patrol received a phone call from an off-duty police officer regarding a vehicle that smelled like marijuana on Southwestern Boulevard. Patrol investigated the vehicle and made contact with the four occupants.

Patrol noted an alleged odor of marijuana and questioned the occupants about it. Kaela S. Jimerson, 20, of Gowanda, stated she smoked marijuana earlier that day in the vehicle. Patrol gained consent from Jimerson to search the vehicle, and asked her if she had anything in her shirt/bra. Jimerson then patted her chest and patrol reportedly heard a scrunching noise. Patrol asked Jimerson to remove the bag, to which she complied. Patrol observed a white, rocky substance in the bag and asked Jimerson if it was crack. Jimerson confirmed it was crack/cocaine, reportedly replying “Yeah.”

Jimerson was placed under arrest, while the vehicle continued to be searched. Patrol located a second bag with a white, powdery substance inside, within a pack of cigarettes where Jimerson was sitting. Patrol asked Jimerson what was in the second bag, to which she replied, “Coke. It’s mostly baking soda. I was trying to rip a kid off.”

Jimerson was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug with intent to sell, third-degree criminal possession of a stimulant and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Jimerson was transported to Evans Police Department for booking, where she was held in lock-up, pending arraignment.
