Accident jams up Thruway westbound
SHERIDAN — An accident involving a State Police car had the New York State Thruway in a traffic jam westbound from Exit 57A to 59 this afternoon. Injuries were reported in the accident near mile marker 462.
Two rescue helicopters were on the scene earlier. The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. today.
Traffic was reported as stop-and-go for the last two hours. Around 6:30 p.m., the Thruway Authority announced the incident had been cleared, but traffic delays were expected to continue.
