Man charged after allegedly trying to steal snacks from delivery truck

A Silver Creek man has been charged after he allegedly tried to sneak some snacks earlier earlier this week.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department investigated a larceny of Frito-Lay products from a delivery truck parked a the Frito-Lay property at 10676 Route 60 in the town on Sunday morning. A worker came to get in the delivery truck at 3:05 a.m. and found two male subjects sitting in the cab of the truck eating Frito-Lay products that they had stole out the back end.

When told he was calling 911 both ran off. Sheriff’s patrol located both subjects walking down the road a short distance from the scene. Complainant identified both as the ones he found in the Frito Lay truck. Deputies got both their names and information and were released at that time pending further investigation.

After finishing the investigation, arrest warrants were issued for Benjamin Catalino, 23, of 12155 Angel Road Lot 37 as well as another subject.

Catalino was picked up by the New York State Police on another incident and handed over to the sheriff’s office. He was remanded to county jail and arraigned using Centralized arraignment and released.
