Burst pipe damages Shorewood Country Club

DUNKIRK — It’s not just the roads that required maintenance due to the recent winter storm.

Shorewood Country Club is now in need of repair to its clubhouse after a pipe burst and caused damage to the kitchen area. As a result, the kitchen is closed until further notice.

In a message sent to its members, Shorewood Country Club said, “Due to a water pipe break during the weather that we experienced over the weekend, the kitchen will not be up and functioning this week. The businesses necessary to come assess damage are inundated with other homes and businesses under the same issues, making the process take longer than normal. We are working to get the clean up underway at this time.”

The City of Dunkirk reported a few similar issues caused by the winter storm.

“We had a few places that had broken water pipes, about half a dozen in the city,” said Dunkirk Public Works Director Randy Woodbury. “We know that private plumbers are pretty busy, but we’re fortunate we haven’t had too much of an issue in the city.”

The town of Dunkirk, however, reported no similar issues besides the incident at Shorewood Country Club.

Starting at $3.50/week.
