BROCTON — Plans are underway for the Brocton Central School Alumni Association Golf Tournament and Chicken & Rib BBQ for July 13.

These events are always held the second Saturday in July to raise money for student scholarships. All proceeds from these events along with donations have funded more thanb $44,000 in scholarships, over the past 18 years.

The next meeting is Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Brocton Legion. Classes planning reunions are encouraged to attend. New members are always welcome. The July 13 events kick off at Pinehurst Golf Course in Westfield at 8 a.m.

Contact Jon Espersen at 467-8328 for reservations. The price is $70 per golfer includes golf, prizes and a hot dogs & hamburger lunch at the turn, skins available. There will be 50-50 drawings and raffle prizes. Register as a team of four, or individuals will randomly be assigned to a team. Donations of raffle prizes are appreciated. Superintendent Jason Delcamp of Brocon Central School will conduct a school tour at 2 p.m. as well. BCS is absolutely a hidden gem. Meet at the school flagpole in the front parking lot and prepare to be amazed!

The fun continues with a Chicken & Rib BBQ by Weinder’s at the Brocton Legion Post 434 beginning at 4 p.m., where you can drive-through to pick-up or park and eat inside. Classes can make reservations to sit together at reserved tables. The dinner includes BBQ Chicken & Ribs, buttered spuds, coleslaw, roll & butter with a homemade cookie.

Tickets are $20, and will soon be available from any Alumni member, at the Brocton Legion Bar, the Village of Brocton office or by calling or texting Kathy Peters at (716) 679-5814. Dinners must be picked up by 6 p.m.
