County eyes changes to short-term rental regulations

Chautauqua County is eyeing some changes to its regulations for short-term rental properties. The changes are designed to align county regulations better with state regulations. During the legislature’s Administrative Services Committee meeting, county Finance Director Kitty Lyons said that she has been working with the county Law Department to update the local law which establishes a tax on occupancy of hotels and short-term rental rooms to align changes at the state level. Gas Prices Hit Highest Level In Four Years

The average price for a gallon of gas in Jamestown is five cents higher this week at $4.640, though prices have stabilized in recent days after a late-week increase. After some consistent declines, the national average price for gasoline rose towards the end of last week. Monday’s national average is $4.51, a penny less than May 11 and nearly 50 cents higher than mid-April’s price.
