Darlene Cooley, niece of fallen soldier Gerald Raeymacker along with her husband, Stephen, received a proclamation from Dunkirk Mayor Wilfred Rosas at the city of Dunkirk’s Common Council Meeting Tuesday. Rosas declared Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019 Sgt. Gerald B. Raeymacker Day. Raeymacker went missing in action in December of 1950 in the vicinity of the Chosin Reservoir, North Korea. His remains will return home to Dunkirk on Thursday.
