Members of the troop are continuing community service projects while practicing social distancing. Scouting for Food is an annual food-collection drive. Cooper Stenger and his father, James, organized the event for the troop. Cooper along with Charli Cinque, Adam Lukach, Owen Lukach, and Ryan Proffitt independently collected food donations from neighbors for the Chautauqua Rural Ministry. Jack Spengler collected food and donated to the Forestville Food Pantry. Lenieth Velez-Olma and Ledreth Velez-Olma made a donation of diapers to the Chautauqua Rural Ministry.

The troop’s annual beach clean up was cancelled as a group activity, but scouts have been cleaning up the beach on their own. Calder Annear, Ryan Proffitt, Cooper Stenger and their families helped pick up trash at Point Gratiot. Natasha Kemp, Isabella Crowell and their mother, Rebecca Schafer, clean up the beach at Sheridan Bay Park.

Scouting At Home continues with Joe Bower and Sam Bowers helping their sister, Emily, cut, iron, sew and donate more than 150 masks.

Den Chief Riley Smith created Elective Adventure kits for delivery to his Webelos in Pack 206. The Webelos Elective Adventures included: Moviemaking, Game Design, Project Family, and Looking Back/Looking Forward.

Isaac Williams continued his service project at the College Woodlot. He processed several trees that were broken in the ice storm two years ago.

Normally on Memorial Day, the troop serves a pancake breakfast to Veterans and hold services at the Fredonia American Legion Post 59, the WCA Home, Fredonia Place and Barker Commons. This year the troop commemorated the day by thanking veterans for their service and sacrifice online. Normally Troop 267 meets Mondays at 7 p.m. at Memorial Post 59, 156 E. Main St. in Fredonia, and is open to all boys and girls who are at least 11 years of age or have completed the fifth grade.
